Glendo Eagles Staff, Parents, Guardians, and School Board Members,
I just wanted to provide a quick update on the BOCES process as information is coming in rapid fire style now! Thank you all for your work on this project.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
Here is a great question that I failed to answer the first go-round:
How will the construction not disrupt teaching and learning when it is happening right next to the elementary? What about dust and debris for the students?
Here is the response from Plan 1:
Once they build the wall (which could be off hours) they will basically wall themselves of, with their own entrance, for remaining work.
We require they provide negative air pressure in work zones, exhausted to the outside, to mitigate any dust transfer.
I just confirmed with Lyndon that the work area has been tested for asbestos and it is negative.
If there are any disruptions, everything is at the convenience of the owner (District) and we can stop and modify procedures if we need to.
